 News

This is where you can find all of my news, latest books, readings and signings. Whilst I will update this regularly it may be worth signing up to my Newsletter to make sure you don't miss a thing.

Cornwall, here I come!

I shall be spending Saturday 10th August on the Lady Daphne.

Charlestown has a really special place in my heart as it's where I spent many, many happy years on the beach with my children.

I shall be on the Lady Daphne from 10am all the way through to 4pm and will be signing books, talking all about books and will have some of my bookish-themed bags there as well.

And what's more one of my writing besties, Jane Cable (although you may also know her as Eva Glyn), will be with me and is bringing her Cornish Echoes series.

It's going to be a fabulous day so if you have a little bit of spare time and are local, do come down and say hello. It would be lovely to see you there.

Meetcute Bookfest!

I’m over the moon to be hosting a panel about the importance of location at the inaugural MeetCute Festival in June.

This is a festival for all lovers of romantic fiction and is jam-packed with panels, workshops and bookish-themed stalls. There’s even an opportunity for one-to-ones with an agent so if you love reading or writing romance, it’s an event not to miss.

The festival takes place on the 22nd June at Bushey Rose Garden near Watford, and not only are there hordes of authors descending to chat all things romance, it is also completely free – bar a small nominal charge for some of the workshops. So if you are anywhere near there on that day then do come along. It’s going to be fab day out. You can book your free tickets through the link below, and also find out the timetable for the day, see which of your favourite authors are coming along and what they’ll be talking about.

And whilst I am at Meetcute Bookfest...

As well as being on a panel, I’ll also be running a stall selling bookish-themed bags. It’s a hobby (obsession) that is slightly out of hand and when not writing, I spend ludicrous amounts of time at my sewing machine, swearing loudly and enjoying every second.

I have a huge stock now - shopping bags, cross body bags and regular handbags, all in bookish-themed fabrics that I love. AND if you are an author who wants to get your book covers made into something a little different to celebrate your achievements, then I can get them custom-printed onto fabric and made up into any design you choose.

I'll be adding a page on here soon, so if you want to get your hands on one but can't get to Meetcute Bookfest, then watch this space!

I have signed with a new agent!

am delighted to let you all now that I have signed with a new agent, the wonderful Nicky Lovick at WGM Atlantic.

Nicky has over twenty years editorial experience and this signing means that I should be able to have my latest book with you very soon...I'm biased, but this new novel is my favourite so far and I cannot wait to share it with you.

Book signing in Cornwall.

I'm back in Mevagissey and this year I won't be signing my books alone! I'm going to be joined by five author friends and we're all going to be there signing our books together.

Six for the price of one...now that's a win!

So, if you're in and around Mevagissey and fancy dropping by to say hello and chat all things books to me, Cass Grafton, Eva Glyn, Kate Ryder, Mandy James and Lamorna Ireland then Sunday 1st October is the day to do it. We'll be in Hurley Books from 2pm - 4pm and cannot wait to see you all.

Every Day In December in is ASDA!

I am so excited to be able to say that my latest novel, Every Day In December is now stocked in Asda.

Having a book in the supermarkets is a writer's dream and I have lost count of the amount of time I have spent in front of the bookshelves in shops dreaming that I may see one of my books there. And now it's happened!

It's going to be stocked in 123 of their stores so I am going to ask you to keep your eyes peeled, simply because I don't know which stores they are going to be. So, if you spot one out and about, will you let me know?

And here is a pic of me, absolutely beaming - behind the mask - that my book is up there on those shelves with all the absolute Queens of Romance. It really does feel incredibly special and I shall remember this day forever.

Book signing.

HURLEY BOOKS in MEVAGISSEY on Saturday 25th September at 2pm.

I am so thrilled to be going back to Cornwall to do a book signing at Hurley Books in Mevagissey to celebrate the release of Every Day In December.

I'll be there with a pen and a smile from 2pm and would love to chat to as many of you as possible, so do come along and say hello.

Publication Party.

THE GREENBANK PUB in BRISTOL at 7.30pm on Friday 3rd September.

I haven't had a publication day party for a little while. So with the paperback of Every Day In December being released on the 2nd September, I have decided to hire a room, pop some money behind the bar and strap my dancing shoes on the very next day.
I am throwing the doors open, so feel free to come and join me in a drink.
If you live close by and would like to know more - come and find me on social media and send me a message.
Otherwise just turn up, say hello and we'll have a dance!

Every Day In December

Cover reveal.

One More Chapter have just revealed my brand new cover so I thought I would share it here with you.

Every Day In December is my very first standalone novel and I am so excited to be able to talk about it. I have LOVED writing about Belle and Rory.

I shall pop the blurb below for now but will be building a page so I can tell you all about it in full. It is already up on Netgalley and available for preorder in all the usual places.

Two people. One month to fall in love.

Belle Wilde loves December. Yes, she’s just lost her job and Christmas is not a good time to find yourself ‘financially challenged’. And yes, her parents are still going on about the fact that she really should have it all together by now. But Belle believes that in December, magic can happen.

Rory Walters hates December. Whilst it looks like his life is together, he’s still reeling from a winter’s night five years ago when his life changed forever. Now back at home, he’s certain that this will be yet another Christmas to endure rather than enjoy.

But as midnight on December 31st draws closer, Belle and Rory’s time together is coming to an end. With a little help from a Christmas miracle could Belle find the one thing she really wants underneath the mistletoe?

I have a brand new publisher!

July 5th 2021

I am so excited to be able to finally tell you this. I have a brand new publisher. Back in 2019 I signed with One More Chapter, a Harper Collins imprint, and am writing two new standalone romantic comedies for them. Both the books are based in Bristol and the first one will be out very soon indeed. But I shall tell you more about that tomorrow when I have my official cover reveal.

I am loving working with One More Chapter. It really is the most supportive bookish family and heaps of my friends are there.

And today I am allowed to shout about it to the world because both The Bookseller and BookBrunch ran articles all about it.

I read The Bookseller's daily round-up every morning before I start my day so to see my own face there was an amazing feeling. I've popped the link below if you want to check it out. They do say some rather nice things!

The auction will be live from May 7th to May 21st, 2021.

I'm offering a signed book bundle that you can find below, but honestly I urge you to have a look at all the lots, there really are some amazing things on offer.

Prize draw.

Win one Cornish Village School book and this Cornish Village School tote bag.

I thought I would shamelessly bribe you all to sign up for my newsletter, thus I'm offering everyone who does so - before Valentine's Day 2021 - an entry into this draw. The newsletter will bring you details of any exciting things happening in my writing life - cover reveals of my new books, publication day give-aways, that sort of thing. That way you won't miss a trick. I also promise not to send squillions, it really will be only a few a year.

The prize is one of The Cornish Village School books (signed and dedicated) - whichever one you choose - and this Cornish Village School tote bag. Now those of you that know me know that sewing is a compulsion of mine, I do it very badly and curse incredibly loudly through the entire process. I think that's why I enjoy it so much. I had this fabric printed and have made four of these bags, two of which are staying in the family, one of which has gone to a reader who generously donated through the Children In Read scheme, and one remaining beauty could be yours. I say dreadful things about my sewing but these bags are incredibly sturdy and can take a lot of weight. I have several in many different designs, they are fab with even the heaviest shopping and easily go in the washing machine.

Why would you not enter? The sign-up link can be found on the home page, you can unsubscribe at any time and I wish you all the best of luck. ❤️

January 2021

This month the final book in The Cornish Village School series - Happy Ever After - was released in paperback. So not only do I get to line them all up and make them look pretty, you can now have the whole collection on your bookshelves too.
I'm sharing the reading I did to celebrate Happy Ever After's release with you, it did make me giggle watching it back - I was so nervous. The reading is taken from the very beginning of the book when Marion makes a rather distressing discovery.
